    Multi-turn gearboxes GST, GK, GHT, WSH  
     
 

Multi-turn gearboxes can be formed by combining multi-turn actuators SA... with AUMA spur and bevel gearboxes to increase the torque or to reposition the output shaft. The gearboxes can of course also be used on manually operated valves.

The spur geabox GST enables lateral repositioning of drive and output shaft.

 
     
 
   
 
     
 
Spur gearboxes GST 10.1 - GST 40.1 Multi-turn Gearboxes GHT 360.1
 
 
 

AUMA spur gearboxes are used for the operation of valves  (e.g. gate valves, globe valves).

  • Type of duty:
    Short-time duty S2 - 15 min (Open-close duty)
    Intermittent duty S4 - 25 % (Modulating duty)
  • They can either be operated in:
    - manual operation directly via handwheel
    - motor operation (electric multi-turn actuator
  • Gearbox is prepared for mounting an actuator flange
  • Clockwise rotation at the input shaft results in clockwise rotation at the output drive
  • To reverse the direction of rotation of GST 10.1 - GST 30.1, a reversing gearbox GW 14.1 can be used 
  • GST 10.1 – GST 16.1 are single stage gearboxes with intermediate wheel
    GST 25.1 - GST 40.1 are double stage gearboxes

Design features:

  • Torques up to 16,000 Nm
  • Reduction ratios from 1:1 to 1:22
  • Output drive types according to ISO or DIN standard

Ambient conditions:

  • High enclosure protection
  • High quality corrosion protection

High pressures in pipelines require multi-turn actuators with high torques.

Torques up to 80,000 Nm can be achieved by combining a multi-turn actuator with a multi-turn gearbox GHT.

  • Type of duty: 
    Short-time duty S2 - 15 min (open-close duty)
  • Operation: Motor operation 
  • Not self-locking

Design features:

  • Torques up to 80,000 Nm
  • Reduction ratio 1:12
  • Output drive types according to ISO 5210 or ISO 5211

Ambient conditions:

  • High enclosure protection
  • IP 67

Bevel Gearboxes GK 10.2 - GK 40.2 Limit Switching WSH 10.1 - WSH 16.1
   
 
 

AUMA bevel gearboxes are used for the operation of valves (e.g. gate valves, globe valves).

For manually operated valves it can be necessary that information on the valve position is displayed in a control room.

There are applications where e.g. a valve may only be opened while another one is closed at the same time.

The AUMA limit switching WSH for manually operated valves is suitable for these applications. 

Design features:

  • Suitable for accepting axial forces (with output drive type A) 
  • Can be positioned at every 90°

Functions:

  • Continuous mechanical position indication
  • Generation of a end position signal for rotary movements from 2 - 500 turns
    (Optional: up to 2000) per stroke 
  • Generation of two additonal intermediate position signals, one in OPEN and one in CLOSE direction (option)
  • Continuous direct travel monitoring for transmission to the control room (option)
